U.S. agency cracks down further on China Telecom Americas – Reuters
The move by the U.S. government agency comes in the wake of the ‘Salt Typhoon’ campaign by Chinese state-sponsored hackers. Actors linked to China burrowed into America’s broadband networks and aimed to establish a foothold within the infrastructure of cable and broadband providers, which would allow them to access data stored by telecommunications companies or launch a damaging cyberattack. The news was first reported by The Wall Street Journal back in September.
