A team from the U.S. Defense Department and Boeing (NYSE:BA) executives is expected to visit India next week to negotiate the sale of about $4 billion of surveillance aircraft, as the two countries seek to revive trade talks, Bloomberg reported.
India will discuss the purchase of six P-8I naval patrol aircraft, the report added. The procurement deal was cleared in 2019, but negotiations had subsequently stalled.
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that his administration is still working to resolve trade barriers with India and plans to speak with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, signaling a potential thaw after weeks of diplomatic tensions.
