U.S. court schedules hearing on family objections to Boeing plea deal
- U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor on Friday said his court on October 11 will hear objections from relatives of people killed in two Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737 Max crashes to the aviation giant’s deal to plead guilty to criminal fraud conspiracy.
- Boeing (BA) in July agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to defraud the Federal Aviation Administration and pay as much as $487 million for not complying with a 2021 deferred prosecution agreement.
- Family members of some of the 346 people killed have argued the fine is too low. They raised other objections to the plea deal.
- The judge also will hear objections to the agreement filed by Polish national airline LOT before he decides to accept the deal or not.
