U.S. semiconductor sector targeted in new China investigations

The Ministry of Commerce in China announced on Saturday two investigations targeting the U.S. semiconductor sector, where tech giants such as Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD), and Broadcom (AVGO) dominate.

According to a statement on the ministry’s website, the ministry launched an anti-dumping investigation on Sept. 13 targeting imports of certain analog chips manufactured in the U.S.

Another statement announced the launch of an investigation targeting what it identified as “anti-discrimination measures” against China’s integrated circuit sector.
