Vietnam Airlines plans major wide-body fleet expansion

Vietnam Airlines announced Monday it intends to add 30 wide-body aircraft to its fleet, either through direct purchases or leasing agreements. Deliveries are scheduled between 2028 and 2030, according to a notice sent to suppliers.

The carrier said it is weighing two models for the expansion — Boeing’s (NYSE:BA) 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus’s A350-900 (OTCPK:EADSF) (OTCPK:EADSY) — as it looks to bolster long-haul capacity in the years ahead.
