- Walmart (NYSE:WMT) is closing a fulfillment center that services online orders for Sam’s Club as it consolidates operations to other facilities in its network.
- “We’re continuously evolving our fulfillment network to improve service for our customers and members as their needs change,” Walmart said in a statement to Reuters.
- Orders that are currently being fulfilled at the DFW4 warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas will now be relocated to a high-tech fulfillment center in Lancaster, Texas, as well as three Dallas-area warehouses.
- The move will result in the loss of more than 100 employees, although that number could change based on how many employees accept Walmart’s (NYSE:WMT) relocation package. The company is offering a $7,500 transfer bonus and relocation benefits.
