Walmart (NYSE:WMT) set the timing for its traditional October shopping event. The retail giant said Walmart Deals will run from October 7 at 12 a.m. ET through October 12.
For an entire week, Walmart (NYSE:WMT) said its shoppers can save across tens of thousands of items online, in the Walmart app, and in stores nationwide. The event this year will feature same-day delivery, early morning delivery starting at 6 a.m., and express delivery in as little as 30 minutes, which the company said makes it the easiest and most convenient place to save this holiday season.
In terms of toys, Walmart (WMT) highlighted special deals on the Hot Wheels Mario Kart Bowser’s Castle Track Set, LEGO Harry Potter Buckbeak, Monster High Frankie Stein Make-A-Monster Pet Doll, and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box.
In terms of electronics, an ASUS gaming laptop and Vizio HDR Smart TV were highlighted as having special deals.
Walmart (WMT) began heavily marketing the Walmart Deals shopping event as a major kickoff to the holiday shopping season in 2023. The strategy was to set it up to overlap with competitor events such as Amazon’s “Prime Big Deal Days” in early October.
The result of major retailers setting the October sales events has been that holiday shopping has been pulled forward from the traditional timing of around Black Friday to Cyber Monday.
