XPeng (NYSE:XPEV) announced on Friday that it reached a major milestone by delivering its first locally produced X9 model at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The delivery followed the opening of the Chinese electric vehicle maker’s inaugural overseas production base in Indonesia. The event marks Indonesia as a pivotal location in XPeng’s (NYSE:XPEV) strategy for global localization, as the company looks to produce intelligent electric vehicles to fit individual Southeast Asian markets. XPeng’s (XPEV) investments in Indonesian manufacturing and talent reflect its long-term pledge to expand globally through innovation and tailored local solutions.
“Indonesia embraces some of the world’s most respected manufacturing ambitions. Our investment here building facilities, nurturing talent, reflects our commitment to bringing advanced technologies to Indonesia,” stated XPeng (XPEV) CEO Xiaopeng He.
XPeng (XPEV) also introduced the New G6 at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, featuring cutting-edge processor technology that was said to enhance AI performance and graphics. The G6 features 800V architecture and 5C ultra-fast charging capabilities that allow charging from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes.
Shares of XPeng (XPEV) slipped 0.9% in premarket trading. The EV stock is up more than 60% on a year-to-date basis.
