Reports out of China indicate that two XPeng (NYSE:XPEV) eVTOLs collided during a rehearsal for an air show and crashed.
The two XPeng (NYSE:XPEV) Aeroht eVTOLs crashed at the site of the Changchun Airshow in Jilin, northeast China, according to a report by local media. CNEVPOST.com reported that at least one passenger was injured and has been hospitalized, with no immediate life-threatening injuries. The company has not issued an official statement.
XPeng’s (XPEV) eVTOL program is run out of its subsidiary XPeng AeroHT. The program targets both urban air mobility and the emerging flying car market. XPeng’s (XPEV) flagship concept is the Land Aircraft Carrier, described as a modular vehicle that combines an electric minivan with a compact, folding eVTOL aircraft housed in the back.
Shares of XPeng (XPEV) slipped 0.9% in premarket trading.
