Comcast-owned NBCUniversal (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Google’s YouTube (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) have agreed to a long-term content distribution deal that includes carriage of NBCU’s full portfolio of networks on YouTube TV.
The news comes days after media reports suggested discussions between the two hit a roadblock over rates to distribute content.
As part of the current deal, the new yet-to-be-launched sports network NBCSN will be made available on YouTube TV, and Peacock will be available on YouTube Primetime Channels in the coming months. NBC’s streaming service will continue to be available on Google’s platforms, including Google Play and Google TV.
The company said the deal will continue to allow Universal Pictures’ collection of movies and TV series to be available for rent on YouTube, Google TV, and YouTube TV, and the video platform will also carry short snippets, highlights, and performances from NBCUniversal’s premium content.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
