Stock futures ticked higher Thursday after the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at record highs, with investors eagerly awaiting key CPI data.

Biggest stock gainers
- Opendoor Technologies (NASDAQ:OPEN) +40% – Shares surged after the company appointed former Shopify COO Kaz Nejatian as CEO and board member. Co-founders Keith Rabois and Eric Wu are returning to the board, with Rabois named chairman. In addition, Khosla Ventures and Wu will invest $40M in Opendoor through a private placement to support business investment and growth.
- Revolution Medicines (NASDAQ:RVMD) +8% – Shares advanced after new Phase 1 trial results supported advancing daraxonrasib into a Phase 3 program for first-line metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). In second-line+ PDAC, daraxonrasib showed a median PFS of 8.5 months and OS up to 15.6 months, while first-line data showed a 47% ORR and 89% DCR. A Phase 3 trial is set to begin in Q4, with another second-line Phase 3 trial on track to complete enrollment by year-end.
Biggest stock losers
- Avidity Biosciences (NASDAQ:RNA) -23% – Shares sank after the company announced plans to raise $500M through an underwritten public offering of common stock. Proceeds, along with existing cash and securities, will be used to advance its three late-stage clinical programs, prepare commercial inventory for multiple potential launches, expand commercial infrastructure, progress R&D tied to its AOC platform, and for general corporate purposes.
- Veritone (NASDAQ:VERI) -14% – Shares dropped after the company priced an underwritten public offering of ~9.51M shares at $2.63 apiece, raising expected gross proceeds of ~$25M. Underwriters have a 30-day option to buy up to an additional 1.43M shares, with the offering set to close on September 12, 2025. Net proceeds will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes, including debt service and repayment.
