AI search startup Perplexity valued at $18B after new funding - report

Perplexity, the artificial intelligence search startup backed by Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), has reportedly raised fresh capital in a deal that values the company at $18 billion.
Perplexity AI raised $100 million through the financing, Bloomberg reported.
The deal is an extension of a previous round from a few months ago that valued the company at $14 billion.
Perplexity’s AI-powered search engine competes against the likes of Google (GOOGL) (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI. Its valuation in December was $9 billion, triple its $3 billion valuation in June 2024.
