Here are some of Wednesday’s biggest stock movers:
Biggest stock gainers
- Box (NYSE:BOX) +11% – Shares rallied after the cloud storage company reported Q1 results and guidance that topped expectations. For Q2, Box expects adjusted EPS of $0.30, ahead of the $0.28 consensus, and revenue of $290M–$291M, beating estimates of $284.1M. Box also raised its full-year outlook, now guiding for revenue of $1.165B–$1.17B, up from the prior $1.155B–$1.165B, and adjusted EPS of $1.22–$1.26, above both the $1.19 consensus and its earlier range of $1.13–$1.17.
- Vail Resorts (NYSE:MTN) +7% – Shares jumped after the company announced that executive chairperson and former CEO Rob Katz will return as chief executive officer, succeeding Kirsten Lynch, who has stepped down from both the CEO role and the board. Lynch will remain with the company in an advisory capacity during a transition period. Katz will retain his position as board chair, which consists of 11 directors. MTN also reaffirmed its FY2025 outlook as outlined in its April 24 guidance release.
Biggest stock losers
- Okta (NASDAQ:OKTA) -13% – Shares dropped despite the company posting better-than-expected Q1 results and raising its full-year profit outlook. For Q2, adjusted EPS is projected at $0.83–$0.84, above the $0.79 consensus, and revenue is guided to $710M–$712M, also topping estimates of $708.8M. Okta raised its full-year adjusted EPS forecast to $3.23–$3.28, up from a prior range of $3.15–$3.20. However, the company maintained its revenue guidance of $2.85B–$2.86B, citing potential risks tied to the uncertain economic environment, which weighed on investor sentiment.
