- Keysight Technologies (NYSE:KEYS) shares rose 1.2% on Wednesday as the semiconductor electronics manufacturing firm said it helped AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) test its server CPUs.
- By allowing AMD early access to its beta software, Keysight allowed AMD to develop and test compliance for PCI Express technology for its server CPU that is capable of operating at 64 gigatransfers per second.
- “By using Keysight’s PCIe compliance test platform and early access software, AMD has been able to confirm and establish a stable demonstration of electrical compliance up to 64 GT/s,” AMD executive Amit Goel said in a statement. “This early validation confirms market readiness for the signal-integrity health and electrical robustness of our forthcoming AMD server CPUs and reinforces our commitment to delivering reliable, high-speed I/O for next-generation platforms.”
- The server was shown for the first time at the PCI-SIG Developer’s conference last week in Santa Clara, Calif.
- AMD shares rose fractionally in late morning trading.
