Micron likely to benefit as DRAM Industry set to surge in 2026: Wells Fargo

  • Micron Technology (MU) is likely to benefit as the dynamic random access memory industry is set to grow more than 100% year-over-year, Wells Fargo said.
  • “TrendForce has increased their total CY25 and CY26 DRAM industry revenue estimates—now estimating $165.7B (+73% y/y) and $333.5B (+101% y/y), respectively,” Wells Fargo analyst Aaron Rakers wrote in a note to clients. “This compares to TrendForce’s prior (Nov ’25) CY25 and CY26 ests at $162.6B (+70% y/y) and $300.6B (+85% y/y), respectively. We reiterate our positive view on Micron into tomorrow’s (12/17) print.”
  • Rakers added that TrendForce was positive on Micron’s 1-year process, which is expected to ramp up to 38% of total bit output by the end of 2026, compared to 12% in 2025. By comparison, estimates for Samsung (SSNLF) and SK hynix are thought to be 11% and 25% by the end of 2026, Rakers added.
