The US FDA has granted approval of Abbott Laboratories (ABT) Volt Pulsed Field Ablation System to treat atrial fibrillation.
The device uses high-energy electrical pulses in targeted areas of the heart to treat irregular heart rhythms.
Abbott said that Volt PFA has been shown to treat atrial fibrillation in a way that is easier on the heart, has a shorter procedure times, and has improved recovery and long-term results.
The companty received CE Mark for Volt in Europe in late March.
